Who can join the wing band?

Participating in Wing Band practises and events is one of the few ATC activities that is open to Probationers, enrolled cadets and Adult Staff alike. The only exception to this rule is Band Competitions, when only bona fida cadets may participate. So whoever you are, we'd love to see you!

You don't even need to play an instrument to join the Wing Band. If you're enthusiastic and willing to learn, Band Staff will be happy to teach you - all you need to do is contact someone ahead of a band practise, to let them know what instruments they should bring for you. Alternatively, if you already play an instrument, then you can get started straight away!

"Playing in the wing band is both rewarding and fun, you meet so many new people and make alot of new friends. The oppotunities to meet members of other wing bands and play along side them at region is not to be missed. You also get a strong feeling of pride as you march infront of the entire wing dressed in your best uniform playing the Wings March!" - Sergeant Mabbott

No excuse

There is something for everyone in Sussex Wing Band. Remember, the more people we have, the more flexible we can be.

In 2008 we hope to establish a Rock/Covers group, a Vocal Group, a Jazz/Wind Ensemble, a Fanfare Team, and possibly also a String Ensemble. This is all in addition to our Marching Band, which will practise and perform regularly throughout the year anyway.
